PRESENT IN LIMA

The International Anaplastology Association (IAA) and la Sociedad Latinoamericana de Rehabilitación Bucomaxilfacial invite researchers, health care professionals, and industry-related specialists from around the world to submit abstracts for presentation at the IAA-BMF Joint Conference in Lima, Peru this July 2020. The meeting will feature a variety of inspiring talks, discussions, and networking opportunities with experts, researchers, and up-and-coming leaders in the fields of anaplastology and head and neck rehabilitation.

 

This conference offers you a platform to share your latest discoveries and experiences with international colleagues. Specialties may range from the fields of anaplastology; plastic and reconstructive surgery; dentistry and maxillofacial prosthetics; head and neck cancer rehabilitation, 3d scanning, modeling and printing; prosthetic makeup and special effects; silicone; material science; color science; clinical protocols and patient healing. We encourage submissions from any relevant disciplinary background, highlighting innovation and advancements in the following areas:

Abstracts will be peer reviewed. Acceptance will be based on content, available space, and overall program balance. Oral Presentations will take place on 15-17 July 2020. Poster presentations will be displayed 15-17 July 2020. Designated Poster Session date and time are to be determined and will be announced on this website. 

 

All abstracts applications must be received through the ONLINE Abstract Application Form before the respective deadlines stated below.. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. If necessary, please send a PDF version of the abstract via email to executivedirector@anaplastology.org .

Note: Applicants  who do not already have an Anaplastology.org account will need to create a new user account to complete the application. Registration for the conference is not required to SUBMIT an application.

INSTRUCTIONS

All abstracts must be submitted via the Call for Papers form on the website.  Please click here to be redirected to the form.  Please make sure to select "Oral Presentation" from the top drop down box when submitting.

 

Abstracts must be 300 words or less. Please ensure that you proofread all presentation names and contributor names. These items will be printed in the Conference Program.
 

  • Title: Maximum 120 characters.

  • Authors: Submit all authors full names and institution affiliations for each author. A maximum of 10 authors will be allowed (if more than 2, upload supplemental documentation via the abstract submission form).

  • Abstract Summary: The summary should be a maximum of 300 words. It should be structured containing Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions

  • Indicate up to 3 keywords matching m words or phrases identifying the summary content ).

  • Upload supplimental documentation as needed. 

  • Include Ethics Committee approval, if relevant.

  • Disclose any conflicts of interest

 

Selected oral presenters will be notified March 15, 2020. 

 

REGISTRATION

Oral presenters are required to register, pay conference fees and receive no compensation. All presentation authors must register for the conference by April 15, 2020.

 

PRESENTATIONS

  • Oral presentations will be given a fifteen (15) minute time allotment and will be in a 4:3 format on a PC platform.

  • Time allotments are limited and papers will be selected based on scientific content, submission date and available time.

  • In order to ensure that your presentation is preloaded onto the presentation laptop prior to your speaking time, we ask that you send your completed PowerPoint to executivedirector@anaplastology.org by Monday, July 6, 2020.  Individuals who finalize their PowerPoints after this time will be responsible for making sure it gets put on the Conference laptop prior to their presentation.

All accepted presenters are also be encouraged to submit a 2000 word summary article on their presented topic for publishing in the 1st Annual IAA Conference Compendium, which will be published later in the year. Submission information and requirements will be made available to all selected presenters.

The presenter should be highlighted by an asterisk (*), be the first author and the author of the abstract submission. POSTER GUIDELINES

Posters should be 40 inches high x 30 inches wide (1.016 meters high x 0.762 meters wide) and must be fully prepared and set up at the conference no later than 5:00 pm on July 15, 2020.  Please check with the registration desk as to where you should set your poster up.  The poster presentation boards will be available at the Conference with push pins for you to secure your poster.

 

The presenter is responsible for assembling your poster board and removing the poster. IAA will not be held responsible for any posters left after the Conference has ended.

POSTER ID AND TITLE

Poster ID numbers will be assigned to each presenter. The poster title must be exactly the same as that used in the abstract and be written in capital letters.

 

AUTHORS AND AFFILIATIONS

The names of the authors should be placed below the title and should follow the same order of presentation in the Abstract. 

The presenter must be the first author of the work and identified by asteristic. In the top right corner, the presenter should place a recent photo of you. Authors should be indicated by surname followed by initials, separated by commas (Example: Makrakis LR *, Araújo C, Barbosa A ). The name of the department, institution, city and state of origin should be placed in lower case, below the names of the authors .

PRESENTATIONS

The posters must be presented at the dates and times determined by the official conference schedule, and the author must be with his/her poster for the assigned time period. A spreadsheet with times and dates will be available on the conference website (this site, www.lima-iaa-bmf.com).
